I could understand it, but then we're left without a backup. Guess it's been discussed, but I don't see it happening.

Ducks need cap space. Badly.

Kings don't have cap space so cap would need to be retained or cap taken back. This doesn't help the Ducks.

Nhl radio just said Bernier to kings being discusssed...

Makes sense for both teams . The Ducks get the cap space they need and the Kings know how to get the best out of Bernier

Edit : I guess the Kings don't have the cap space so my point is moot

Can't the Kings just put Quick on LTIR, and then they can figure out the cap situation in a few months when he's back?

It makes a lot of sense. I know Ducks fans said they needed a good backup since they were running with Gibson, but considering the cap crunch they are in, a backup with a four million cap hit is a pretty silly idea.

If the money doesn't work, I imagine LA can send back Purcell. He's a UFA next year and makes 1.600

Yeah! Then they can pay a team like CAR a first to take a cap dump because they got a $4M 3 month patch.

We would still need a backup coming back. I don't know what they would offer in that regard, but we have to get one back.

I don't see anything about this on Twitter. All I see is an article from Anaheim Calling speculating it as a possibility.

I'd be surprised if the Ducks traded Bernier so soon after acquiring him. Besides, taking into account Gibson's history of injury woes...they need a capable backup and Bernier is certainly that.
