Still kind of crazy that at the time it looked like we got virtually nothing in return, and one of those nothings turned into Eric Cernak.

Steven Stamkos in an interview the other day said that the Ben Bishop trade was one of the best for the franchise and then he said "on the way in and out," a little appreciation for getting us Cernak from Stamkos.

Corey Conacher + 4th for Bishop's prime and Cernak for the foreseeable future. That's how you put the M in SFY.

There's a long list of guys we had during our building years that I wish had been with us for at least one cup, and Bishop is on top of that list. He was just such a massive part of the team, and part of the winning culture we still enjoy.

The tribute to Big Ben in this thread is Well deserved. Another point is Bens mentor ship of Vassy, especially moving the puck. Vassy is still not Ben in that regard but he’s generally above average which paired with his ungodly other skills has made him even better.

Realistically we got the best out of Conacher as well, even when he came back here he was great. There is a very long trade tree for that trade lol: Conacher and a 2013 4th which was Philly's from a trade we made with them involving Kubina, Bishop was then moved with a 2017 5th (LA drafted Drake Rymsha) for Budaj (then traded for Andreoff), Cernak, a 2017 7th (traded to Philly with a 2017 4th and Filppula for Mark Streit (traded to Pittsburgh for a 4th which was then traded to Vegas to make sure they took Garrison in the ED) , Philly drafted Maxim Sushko with the 4th and Wyatt Kalynuk with the 7th ) and a 2017 conditional pick.
