Worth noting that not only does Belfour have an extra Vezina win over Hank, he had to beat out Roy to get both. Later on in his career, he was also competing against Hasek and Brodeur. Lundqvist has had a great career, but this is still Belfour.

there may be some recency bias here, but Im curious if people feel Lunqvist has maybe surpassed Belfour by now.

Vezina voting career
Belfour: 1,1,2,3,4,4,4,7,7,7
Lundqvist: 1,2,3,3,3,4,5,6,6,6

Belfour (1988-2007)
963GP-484-320-125 906 SV%

1 Cup

Lundqvist (2005-present)
887GP-459-310-96 918 SV%
playoffs: 61-65 922 SV%

Im giving the ever so slight edge to Lundqvist... Eddie was a little blessed playing in Chicago and Dallas in the 90s. But yes, he was a big part of both.

Playoff success handily in belfours favor.

Agree with OP, I give the slight edge to Lundqvist. This is a good example of hardware being misleading.

There was a six-year period where Lundqvist had twice the number of GSAA as the goaltender in second place. There was about an 8 or 9 year period where he led the entire league in WAR -- more than Crosby, Ovechkin, Malkin, etc. Forget a Cup: it's a crime that a sole Vezina is Lundqvist's only individual award.

Roy had a poor year by his standards though in Belfour's second win and only received a single 2nd place vote.
