Gusev really picked it up after he got paired with Hughes.

But would still prefer to have Hughes with at least one other guy who can skate with him. Palms is still not looking like he’s found his niche. But I did like Ruff juggling the lines tonight.

Smith’s gaffes were mostly sloppy passes and some open safe indecision. He was pressured but to me his mistakes were largely self inflicted.

A lot of mistakes tonight by the team were self inflicted.

I keep seeing good period, but we didn't have a single high danger chance at even strength. And this doesn't look "good"

List of penalties they never called that couldve. First noticeable one was hughes being tripped at the red line in the second. Even Keith Jones and the other Flyers guy said he got cut down and no call.
Tennyson being tripped in the third, hughes being elbowed in the third, Severson having his stick held in the third

Smith being hooked behind the net was so blatant and an easy call post 2006.

1. Being on PK more than PP
2. Being kicked out of face-offs at a 5:1 clip vs the other team
3. Somewhere in the range of 3-5 broken sticks, with ~2 of them coming from PK

Like everyone said, cant even be mad. We hit like 3 posts, outplayed them with 4 of our best players missing, pk subban playing like a beer league player and the refs looking like they got paid by Gritty. I aint too worried.

I think this is the game that gives me more hope for the rest of the season than any other so far.

Put Sharangovich on the other wing with them. But yeah unfortunately with a lot of youngins these types of games are gonna happen more often than everyone would prefer. Especially if special teams continue to struggle.

Smith making a mistake and Wedge screwing up doesn't bug me.

Smith is a rookie. It's going to happen. Wedge is what he is and doesn't factor into our future at all so it's not worth sweating.
