Maple Leaf Scouts: We like the size and physical game Mersch brings to the table. He's not going to be a dynamic offensive player, and needs to improve his skating, but he has the potential to develop into a very valuable secondary player in the NHL. We were surprised to see him on the board at this point.
Maple Leaf Scouts: He's a big, tough defender who plays a nasty game. Skating is improving, and we like the second half he had with Sudbury. He projects as a tough shut-down type, but we feel there is some offensive potential in him if he finds the confidence.
Maple Leaf Scouts: We were debating on swinging for a high-risk player, but we think Camara has a really safe chance at being a player. He's a character forward with a bit of untapped offensive potential. He had 19 fighting majors this season and will go with just about anyone. Good speed and tireless work ethic, he gets in on the forcheck quickly. He was a high OHL pick and is a Toronto native - also one of the younger players in the draft with a September birthday. We project him to be a bottom-six player who's going to be a pain to play against and fan favourite in this city.
