As players? No. As players getting a hype job based on one season and good fancy stats while fans assure us that
this is going to be the norm for years... yes, absolutely. We've done this
so many times over the years and these players often don't, in fact, become multi-year Norris threats.
You're doing the same thing. It doesn't matter how much you like him or how confident you are, you aren't going to sway people until he's done it a few years. In the meantime don't drag out a lot of rope so as to hang yourself later if he's just another blip on the radar in the long term.
I'm not even saying anything about his quality, people just need to cool it on the "going to be a fixture for years" assertions. If it happened as often as it was assured we'd have 20+ top 5 Norris candidates.
