This team would be extremely lucky to have EJ and JJ as 7 and 8 D if Malinski makes the team.

I think it would be really beneficial to EJ too. I think the rigors of an 82 game season really wear him down now.

If he comes back in a lesser role, he gets to keep playing the game he loves with a lighter work load, he can keep his body fresh for a playoff run if needed, and he gets a little more change in his pocket. Win/win.

As a 6th defensemen, sure in my view. Imagine the players he learns from: Toews, Makar, Byram, Girard and Manson !! At 24 (and having played against men), possibly even a better option that Jack Johnson.
