The projected lineup for the Colorado Avalanche

Jamie McGinn-Matt Duchene-PA Parenteau
John Mitchell-Paul Stastny-David Jones
Chuck Kobasew-Michael Sgarbossa-Milan Hejduk
Cody McLeod-Mark Olver-Patrick Bordeleau

Ryan Wilson-Erik Johnson
Ryan O'Byrne-Jan Hejda
Greg Zanon-Tyson Barrie

Jean-Sebastian Giguere

Players to watch (courtesy of the Flames website):

PA PARENTEAU (GOALS: 3 | ASST: 1 | PTS: 4)
After scoring 18 goals and 67 points riding shotgun to John Tavares of the New York Islanders, Parenteau signed a four-year, $16 million contract to play in Colorado. With just 43 career goals in 192 NHL games, Parenteau will be motivated to prove his value to the Avalanche and confirm he can do it without his former center. Though the season is young, he’s done just that early with three goals and four points in six games.

MILAN HEJDUK (GOALS: 0 | ASST: 3 | PTS: 3)
After a career-worst 37 points last season, the 36-year-old Hejduk will set out to prove there’s still gas left in the tank. The veteran forward and former Avalanche captain who has hit the 30-goal plateau five different times in his career needs just three more games to become the first Avalanche player to suit up for 1,000 games with the franchise and is the only remaining teammate from Alex Tanguay's tenure in Colorado.

MATT DUCHENE (GOALS: 2 | ASST: 3 | PTS: 5)
Colorado’s leaning scorer through the first six games of the season, Duchene is out to prove last season’s 14 goals and 28 points were a mere speed bump in his development. The former third overall pick from the 2009 NHL Draft is one of the franchise’s cornerstones and a strong season with further solidify the 22-year-old as a top forward in Colorado.

Goaltenders Matchup:
Miikka Kiprusoff (This Season: 1-2-1, 3.44 GAA, ..877 SV%)
Semyon Varlamov (This Season: 2-4-0, 2.66 GAA, .916 SV%)

More Information Before The Game Today:
- The Flames were 4-2-0 against the Avalanche last season
- Bob Hartley is coaching the Flames against the team he won a cup with back in 2001
- Hope we can capitalize on some PP chances tonight!
- You're stuck with Hudler for another GDT, because I'm too lazy to change all those pictures at the moment.

And finally...

It's been good so far it's sitting 6th @ 29.4%. Wideman is the QB the Flames have desperately needed.

These numbers are also without Iginla scoring yet.

Backlund with a hat trick. :yo:

Calgary gets their second win of the season. 5-2.

O'Reilly and Shattenkirk score for the Avs.

Tanguay, Iginla, and Backlund for the Flames.

Should be an easy win for the Flames.

Which probably means they stink it up and lose.

Whoever hasn't scored yet for the Flames will all score tonight.

I just hope to see Bordy fight Jackman.

I don't think O'Reilly has re-signed yet. This and other facts (schedule, Landeskog) strongly suggest a Flames victory but we'll see. I would love to see a Valentine's Day Massacre vol. II with Iggy and Cammalleri getting the monkeys off their backs.

lol, you choose to pick out O'reilly and not Shattenkirk who doesn't even play for the Avs?

Impressive that the Avs will get goals from a guy who hasn't signed yet, and a guy who plays for the St. Louis Blues... :sarcasm:

Hey, they've gotta get scoring from somewhere, and it doesn't look like its from within their roster ;) Just kids though, Colo looked really good in Edmonton in the 3rd period, I hope we don't face that team, but the one that played the first two against Edmonton.

Avs also played last night in Van and lose an hour coming this way.... just another reason why Flames SHOULD win tonight, and why they prob won't.

Honestly, don't even be slightly worried. It will be the easiest win the Flames have ever had. Avs are a mess with holdout O'Reilly, and injuries to Downie and Landy along with the worst coach in the history of the NHL.
