Not only that but none of his goals come from a clean shot that beat the goalie:

Redirected with a skate, missed his shot which messed with the goalie so it went in, empty net, wide open net.

I get it that those count too...but you can't really build on any of that.
Oh jeez now we're nitpicking on HOW they are going in too?

You just can't win on these boards haha.

Hi, do you get now what I was saying?

I’ve been told it’s spelled “Pokecheck”

No Beauchemin or Iginla?
Naw, Iggy just got old. Most of my rage about that was directed at management for thinking he was anything more than a power play specialist.

Beauchemin was probably third on that list, got knocked out by Johansen. Still don’t think he’ll be at the very top yet though…I really, REALLY hated Bumwhack.

Can't believe the Avs sent a guy who went to jail for RyJo, and still somehow managed to lose the trade.

This RyJo trade might legitimately set this team back two years until his contract expires. Not sure if they gonna find a team to take RyJo in a trade, and have the Avs ever bought out a player before? I don’t think they like doing that so we might just be stuck with him for this two years which means they really can’t upgrade the 2C position

It really shouldn't.

They just have to move him. Pay the price to get out of it fully(Should be a 2nd round pick) is what they should do but if not that at least buy him out. It will certainly make things tougher to carry a $1.3M cap hit for 2 years but things can still be managed.

But obviously if our management is dumb enough not to move him and his cap hit then yeah, it basically ends our window quite frankly.

There's no way he'll be on the active roster next year. If he survives the TDL, its either

a) the Avs buy him out, 1.33m next year and the year after (vs 4m next on the roster) or
b) the Avs send a pick with RyJo and someone else buys him out, essentially buying a pick.

Yeah but like I said. Avs don’t really like trading 1st round picks unless it’s an emergency like getting Kuemper when they really needed a goalie, and I don’t remember the last time they bought out a player

The Avs management probably thinks they can win as long as MacK is having a MVP type of season. Again, they would have to trade the 1st for someone to take RyJo, but this team doesn’t like throwing away 1st round picks, and they don’t have a 2nd

Beauchemin. They had to with the upcoming expansion draft looming.
Yup, they’ll do it if it’s something that really needs to be done. I’m not sure if they’re looking at buying out RyJo is something that they really need to do. Maybe he’s included in some kind of a trade at the deadline this year, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he wasn’t and Avs just ride that contract out for another year

So what is the cap implication if Ryjo is waived? Is this an option or are we talking only trade and buyout as options?
