What a mess.

20 - 16 - 36
61 - 13 - 10
96 - 24 - 19
26 - 28 - 25

Not that hard to mix it up without going bonkers

Yeah, might as well mix up what seemingly isn't working. We've only scored 6 goals in the past 3 GP, and 4 of them were against Cam Ward.

If Etem is recovered from his illness, he absolutely should be playing over Glass

Everyone saw this coming.

All it was going to take was for Glass to have one "good game" and he'd go right back to being a comfortable regular.

I anticipate AV will use those lines anyway, but who knows. There will be no morning skate tomorrow, so we'll find out at his presser tomorrow/during pre-game warm ups.

Why isn't Etem held to the same "good game" standard? He certainly had his chances.

Anyway, you at least must be happy to have your #1 whipping boy back. I actually thought you'd need to turn your eye toward players with much larger roles who are playing very poorly. Whew! Crisis averted, eh?

We have been ripping on Staal and Girardi all season so this is a curious post.

It wasn't even a full game. His play dropped off after the beginning of the second period, and he missed on a grade-A chance to give us an early lead. I'll give him credit for being more engaged, but Etem is an active shooter from the high slot, which we need very badly at the moment. He's also great at puck retrievals and getting in on the forecheck.

There's 17 other guys on the team but Girardi and Staal are on the ice for the Rangers for 2/3 of the game.

Defensive pairings are also heavily dependent on the partner so you have your entire Top 4 being dragged down.
