Two new additions (Prime Green). EPS did the work and the wait was only 3 months!

I know there’s some people on here confused by the jerseys of players that aren’t ‘real’. This is some random player from the 2021 rookie camp. The point is to strip it and redo it as a Landeskog Cup one. The MiCs really are way better than the Indo Adidas. It’s a lot cheaper to get these prospect camp ones and strip/rekit them than even the Game Issued (but not worn) or the rare Team Issued blanks.

Side note: Love last years tags and no it’s not still a Blidh since it was a GI not a Gamer and is in the process of becoming a Moose

In the middle of a bit of a digital detox to try to get my head back on straight after some challenge but making a brief interruption in celebration of a personal grail day

The starter mesh but especially away ones are very hard to find. It’s technically a 96-97 but almost no one can tell the difference. Had to have the kit made as well

Alright I bought a Mikko Rantanen signed jersey for $250. It was a fundraiser for a middle school orchestra trip and one of the students' parent works for the Eagles and donated the jersey to be auctioned. I was the only bidder so I got it for $250.

Now I have to figure out if I want to frame it. I also have a signed Mikko puck so it might be cool to frame the puck with the jersey.

Does anyone have any experience in framing jersey’s?

Never thought I’d really have one worthy of a frame but my sister’s boyfriend, who runs a very nice restaurant in Aspen, recently has had the pleasure of meeting and being in contact with Mackinnon’s GF as she’s had a couple parties there recently, and he clearly asked her if she could send a signed photograph for me and she/Mackinnon sent him a signed and personalized jersey to him for me instead! One of the legit, players jerseys with the strap in the back and everything. Maybe the greatest gift I’ve ever received and pretty cool how thoughtful she(they) were to take the time to ship it to him. My sister’s BF was just as surprised as I was honestly even though it doesn’t surprise me with how good of a guy he is! Pretty cool to receive during the year Mack is having too.

Anywho, I’m curious if people have any good recommendations on frames and do people do it themselves or is there someone who specializes in sports memorabilia? And advice would be greatly appreciated!

I recommend being in contact with an art framing place that has a track record in framing jerseys, or if there's a specialized sports memorabilia framer in your neck of the woods. I haven't had a jersey framed yet (it's in the works), but I've had art framed and those places know how to do it and do it how you want it.

It won't be the cheapest option but with a legit frame-worthy jersey I'd only view putting it in a cabinet yourself as a temp solution.

Others have loads more experience in this though, so I'll let them tag in.

Yeah, considering that thing has got be absolutely priceless to you, this is an area where I would happily open up on my tightwad ways and spend to have it done properly by a professional, preferably someone who can show you examples of their previous work.

I've gone to Michaels to get art matted and framed but I don't think I would trust them with a jersey. It's just a whole other ballgame making one of those look nice in the setting and getting everything pinned so it stays nice and tight over the years. Not something I would want to attempt with a game worn MacKinnon as my first try.

But whatever you do, please share a photo when done. I would love to see that beauty in all its glorious majesty when complete.

Thanks, guys!

@expatriatedtexan, totally agree. I live in Aspen (fortunately and unfortunately) so Michaels or other big names like that simply don't exist. There's a sports memorabilia store here that I've left a voicemail for to see if they do that sort of thing, but I'm shuddering just thinking about what that would run me. And I'm hesitant to ship that thing off to some random person to do.

I know there's a couple DIY videos on Youtube and I trust in my handy skills for the most part, but really hoping someone can recommend a specific shadow box/frame that looks really nice to even jump start that.

Framing a jersey is crazy expensive. Been looking into it for a couple of mine and it’s around $500-750 CAD (plus shipping) from a specialist up here. A shadow box setup from a regular custom framing shop is actually somehow $1000-2000 depending what you do with it.

Your best bet is to head over to r/hockeyjerseys (on Reddit) and ask in the legit check/questions thread. I know they have a shadow box frame from Michael’s they recommend if you’re DIYing but I don’t remember specifically which one. It runs around $200 but they always say to just wait til one of those 50% off one item coupons rolls around to buy one. One of the mods that’s really active in that thread is an Avs fan so they might have an idea of a specific custom framer in the general area you could send it to.

Not jersey related persay, but wondering if anyone has any connections or knows of websites where I could find old Reebok Avs hats? They're by far the best fit/quality, after tossing mine recently, wondering if there's old stock sitting around anywhere.

Don’t know if he has hats but Full Moon Jerseys on eBay has a pile of Reebok overstock they sell. They’re a legit/trusted seller for hockey jerseys but allegedly have sold fakes of baseball ones. Not sure on usernames but there are a few other sellers on eBay that still have cheap Reebok overstock

Looks like they don't have hats, but appreciate the lead! Been an interesting rabbit hole searching for stuff. Ebay only has two pages.

Hey, i have been gifted Avalanche jersey few days ago, my first one ever (the home one, without any lettering). I always wanted it, but could not really justify buying it myself, as there is nowhere for me to wear it, really. And its not exactly cheap. But now i finally have it, after about 25 years of being a fan, so rejoice!

That said, i am little disappointed, how dark and dull the burgundy color is. I mean, its something that is hard to judge, as its very dependent on the quality of lighting. So far i only seen it under artificial light, not in broad daylight, but safe to say, i was not impressed.

In reality it looks quite closely like on this picture:

when i would have prefered, if this look was true:

All in all, i would be in favor of the burgundy being lighter,so the red in it more pops out, and its does not feel like almost brown. The old 96-99 shade was fine, i never understood why they made it darker.

I bought a game ready jersey for a Finnish club team (so not the Avalanche) with the number 27 on it, and as a consequence I now think about Jonathan Drouin more than Jonathan Drouin's mother.

I swear at some point someone had linked a decent Chinese site to buy jerseys from, but I can't find it now. Anyone knows what it is? ECSeller let me down last time
