Looks like he had 2 that year. Yeah in terms of just goal scoring they are pretty similar seasons and Stamkos probably should get more recognition.
But Ovechkin also had more assists than Stamkos as well, while having a worse supporting cast. I'm sure that's part of the reason why that season is regarded so highly (and deservedly so).
Where are you getting those stats? Natural stat trick has him 13th using that criteria?5v5 primary assists/60 among the 46 centermen with at least 600 minutes played in the NHL this year ranking:
1. McDavid (tie)
1. MacKinnon (tie)
3. Danault
4. Marchessault
5. Draisaitl
6. Kopitar
7. Barkov
8. Matthews
9. Gourde
10. Zibanejad
Other notables:
12. Backstrom
14. Tavares
15. Crosby
16. Giroux
17. Scheifle
18. Barzal
Wow. For not seeing the ice well and being one of the main triggermen in the NHL, he sure seems to somehow pile up primary assists....
Run along now....
Back to the poll question, 60-65 is probably the answer. He's in his prime now and finally being played proper minutes after Babcock was released and it all depends on staying healthy.

Ok, no one said he’s not a great goal scorer, I was just asking a simple question, thought maybe the site I was using was different. And isn’t 1.93 higher than 1.81?I wrote that on April 26th and it was accurate at the time.
He doesnt have any assists in the 4 games since then, just 5 goals.
His 1.93 Goals/60 5v5 is pretty crazy.
Its .42 ahead of 2nd place (Rantanen) out of the 162 forwards with 600+ minutes.
The highest mark since Stamkos 1.81 his 60 goal season.

Yup, highest mark since then.
I think what he means is wouldn't there be a mark before then it would be the highest since seeing as how 1.81 is not higher than 1.93?
That doesn’t make sense. Since 1.93 is higher it’s not the highest since then. It’s the highest since something even earlier. Also Viktor Arvidsson had 1.85 in 2018-19. Not that it matters as that’s also lowerYup, highest mark since then.
Ahh, I'm a little sleepy. Just watched that Leafs/Habs game tonight.
The highest /60 I've seen recorded anyways.
