That’s another reason why these types of stats have low reliability. The human inputting the stats flaws the data. At home AM gets credited with hits. The person inputting could be biased, and likely is. This isn’t just about AM though. It’s likely true throughout the league. The human bias in the home rink negatively affects reliability.
Imo AM is a top 15 player, when including D and goalies.

It is the same with all the subjective stats - shots, shot attempts, giveaways, takeaways, hits.. whatever.

Pretty sure I remember several people crunching the numbers on the shot counters for New Jersey and supposedly they undercounted (I think it was?) for years.

McDavid and the Oilers have had no more success in the playoffs than Matthews and the Leafs. neither team has done anything in the post season.

Where was either team mentioned in their post? Or do you associate pronouns with businesses?

No no, his post was referencing that McDavid has taken his team to the Cup as MacKinnon did with team. That has simply not been the truth. The Oilers have not won nothing.

I didn't read the thread, but the 11 of you who voted #1 need to figure out what "best" is. I have him solid top 5. Strong thoughts for top 3. McDavid is the best player on the planet.

Voted top 5. Difficult to put him ahead off mcdavid and mackinnon. After that Makar, Hughes and Kucherov are arguably in the mix this year. Woud put him fifth. In front of all the more profuctive wingers because of his two way game, impressive goalscoring ability and bigger impact overall.

There is bias in every rink. You don't think the people counting hits at the visitor's rinks aren't biased as well. It's a subjective stat that should be taken with a grain of salt.

One of the greatest goal scorers the league has ever seen who also gets Selke votes every year. Yup, top 50, folks.

100% agree. The data going into many of these stats is garbage. Garbage in = garbage out.

Matthews is an incredible and unique sniper. Some of you guys should chill in terms of Leaf hate
