Of course it’s unlikely we keep up this pace for the entire season, we’re on pace to have the best season ever. But it’s more than halfway through the season. “Bubbles” do not last that long. Top to bottom this team has very, very few weaknesses. Best two-way forward ever, top-5 defenseman in the league (conservative), Rocket Richard/Hart contender, Vezina runaway favorite… And haven’t even named guys like Marchand and Lindholm.

It’s not a bubble. This team is legit. I don’t care if they double their regulation losses for a whopping total of 10. If anything, it’s good if they have to overcome some adversity between now and April. They already did by having a better record without McAvoy and Marchand than they do now…
