To be fair though, college football stadiums are made up largely of bleacher sections that can cram in larger crowds at cheaper prices.
The NHL made a huge gaff by attempting to develop markets. It is the premiere hockey league in North America...it shouldn't be the league that has to develop interest in hockey, it should have been there before the NHL showed up.

You've never been to the Shoe. It dominates. It's huge and it isn't a cheap facility.
But if I'm not mistaken it uses bleacher seating, meaning the prices are cheaper than if there were individual seats (i.e., much lower capacity)
