Welcome to ATD #9

The draft will last 24 rounds. You must draft 2 goalies, 6 defensemen, 12 forwards, a coach and 3 extra players.* (based on ATD#8 format, this can change depending on what direction the discussion takes over the next two and a half weeks)

Trading is allowed. Trades must be equal in numbers, 2 picks for 2 picks, 1 player and a pick for 2 picks, and so on. Really lopsided trades can be vetoed

You MUST PM the GM after you once you have made your pick. Failure to do so will mean banishment by catapult and forfeiting your first round draft pick to Glace Bay....okay maybe not...but please do PM the next GM

Announcment: The clock begins ticking at midnight on Friday night (March 28th). Thus whoever is up at that point will have until 8am EST to make their selection. Please be aware of whether or not you are coming up at this point as it's early in the morning on the left coast. Thus, send a PM to me before going to bed indicating who you'd like selected. After this the clock will begin as soon as someone makes their pick. The clock for the first set of rounds will be 8 hours.

Well, we had all the GMs so I figured I'd post things ASAP. The 29th as the day the clock starts is still firm in my eyes. This weekend is Easter and I'm pretty adamant about a weekend start so I can be around to update etc.

That's what I think. Draft can begin as of now, minus time limits.

Each roll of the dice or draft is an independent event uninfluenced by other independent events. Your chances of nabbing a top 3 pick are 3 in 28 or 32 regardless of how times you've done it before.

Unless you're a witch, at which point your chances improve greatly. Just sayin'.

That's true after he's already picked up one top-3 pick. But looking at it from the perspective of what are the odds of getting two top-3 picks I believe it should be (3/28)*(3/32).

Sort of like the odds of getting three consecutive heads on three coin-flips is (1/2)*(1/2)*(1/2) or 1/8.

He's right. IMHO, Belak is a major gem. What 100 pt. scorer provides the physicality and toughness he does? Not to mention the versatility to play both offense and defense.
