I seriously despise our new GM...Gorton should be (mod) for trading Hagelin for Emerson Etem.....Emerson #^&*ing Etem
are you friggin kidding me
and I don't want hear about salary cap issues...something else could of been done to avoid losing Hags

When will people understand that the trade wasn't Hagelin for Etem :shakehead:shakehead:shakehead

Who would if thought Hagelin would turn the Penguins into a Stanley Cup contender..

He has been their best player in the playoffs along with Kessel.

educate me please..what was it?

It was to move up in the second round and to get a younger player who could have potentially been on the roster. Etem was that guy. It was also to dump salary.

Teams knew we couldn't keep Hagelin due to cap constrictions, so it drove the trade value down a bit.

It's unfortunate that Etem didn't click here like they wanted him to do.

It was a salary dump. Everyone knows that.
like I said in my previous post...I don't want to hear about salary cap issues...something else could of been done to avoid losing hags...dump salary elsewhere...not on someone who scored huge playoff goals in 2014 and 2015

They are living up to exactly my expectations muahahahaha

Lol mine too, man. This is just so typical of them. They have to be one of the most mentally weak teams come playoff time. Say want you (not you specifically) want about the Rangers but over the years they have overcome some tough adversity.

Yeah, it was a salary cap move, but we`ve too many medicore defenders with high salary - that`s the issue at the moment. I think we could avoid losing Hagelin, but maybe Jeff & AV thought it was easy to replace him.

Have you considered that...well...it isn't all that easy to make "the right moves" all the time? Maybe Hagelin was the only move they could make because they couldn't do other moves easily.

Also note: Sather was the one in charge of the Rangers and their moves on draft day. So...go ahead and blame Gorton if you want lol

I 100% bet you wouldn't be like this if Hagelin was still languishing on the Ducks roster. It's not the fault of anyone on this team that he was traded to the Pens.

I vividly remember the day hagelin got traded...I was in the car driving home..I knew then and there that it was a horrible horrible loss
watch the game 4 OT victory over montreal in 2014...hags intercepts the puck and passes to st.louis for the game winner
last year against the pens in the first round he assists on the game 4 OT win and then scores the series winner in OT in game 5
if you need to dump salary fine
but not by this stupidity move
Gorton should be ashamed of himself

He's fit in perfectly in Pitts. Good for him.

Sullivan is the real mvp for the Pens this season imo.

Frankly it wasn't even so much a salary cap move, they could have made it work.
The problem was paying him what he is worth. Major reason Callahan was shipped out.

4mil a year? For a 3rd liner and PK specialist with stone hands?
The Rangers may have screwed up on this decision, much like they did with Stralman.
But at the time it was considered by many to be the right move.

The Hagelin-Bonino-Kessel line is killer.

Sullivan really turned the Pens around. Yet, he wasn't nominated for Jack Adams for...no good reason.

weak slash call on ovi
I kind of feel bad for the caps
they have to play against the pens and the refs at the same time
