If this person was involved with ownership - He tried to buy the Thrashers but the NBA team refused to offer him an arena lease.

I believe that would be Tom Glavine

Pretty sure JJ spoke about that last year and he never sounded very positive about League supporting team there in near future.

I believe what he was getting at was that he didn't think QC was the best choice for an expansion slot when massive American markets would be far more lucrative. If some money pit small market dumpster fire wanted to move there I'm sure the league would be all for it.

Leafs beat Sabres .Games are equal now Bruins up 1 pt.
Habs lost 2-1 to Devils and sit 1 point up on Pittsburgh and Carolina but they both hold a game at hand.

ESPN was not impressed with the Bruins moves

Winners and losers of the 2019 NHL trade deadline

Loser: Boston Bruins

This one might be a little controversial and really depends on how much one admires the skills of Charlie Coyle and Marcus Johansson. The Bruins needed to add a center and a second-line wing. Coyle might end up being better as the latter than the former, and cost them Ryan Donato, who promptly scored an overtime winner for the Wild. Johansson simply doesn't have the same pop as some of the other wingers who moved around the deadline.

The good news for Boston is that its rivals in the East didn't really add much, outside of the Columbus shopping spree. The bad news is that the pieces the Bruins acquired don't necessarily fit snugly.

How can the 2nd best team in the East that is also the 2nd most improved team post deadline be a loser?

Must be written by a Habs/Leafs fan loser...

Pierre said it best on Montreal radio tonight - The Bruins SHOULD beat Toronto - Tampa will be a challenge. The only player we moved was Donato and it was clear the coaching staff soured on him.

Don't fit snugly? An interesting observation after one game played between the two players. These hack writers, man.

How on earth have the B's NOT played Columbus yet this year?

Bruins now play 6 straight at home and need to bank every point they can.

Very strange schedule .Not facing Leafs or Canadiens inside last 36 games covering Feb March and April and in same division and arch enemies.

Might not get home ice with 110 points, yikes

crazy eh?and teams with far less points will...format has to change

BUT - with the unbalanced schedule with divisions how do you fix it?

When the dust settles in April we could hear screaming from Poutineville that the wild card is unfair if it plays out the way I think. The Metro will wind up with both wild cards and Montreal will pout that the top 4 teams in each division should advance. That is a valid argument and Tampa would much rather play Montreal than a WC2 which could be Columbus, Carolina or Pittsburgh.

The NHL BOG wants to keep their Canadian TV partners engaged as there is big money involved. If Montreal does not qualify, TVAS loses millions as fans in Quebec will stop watching. Rogers will lose millions if Toronto does not advance - viewers in Ontario will ignore Winnipeg and Calgary.

NBC needs the Bruins to advance along with Washington. Their cash cow for 10 years has been Chicago but that is gone and Pittsburgh is very iffy to even make the playoffs.

In 2015 when Tampa made the SCF they only generated a 15 rating in their home market which meant 85% of people who owned TV's were not watching. Compare that to Boston in 2011

Game 7 earned a 43.4/64 rating in Boston, easily making it the most-watched hockey game in the city. Stanley Cup fever gripped Beantown in a big way, as the series had a rating 12 percent higher than the Celtics-Lakers NBA Finals in 2010.

Roundup: All the biggest trade deadline deals that DIDN’T happen

According to a report from TSN insider Darren Dreger, the Toronto Maple Leafs made a last minute effort to acquire rugged winger Micheal Ferland from the Carolina Hurricanes. While Ferland’s name has been tossed around in trade talks, the Hurricanes are in the playoff hunt for the first time in years and so weren’t willing to part with Ferland just yet.

Krejci needed a shooter/power forward who can cycle and play in front of the net for the Bruins to have 2 dominant lines. I don't think Johannson is a bad player, he has good hockey IQ and can make things happen but a player with size, toughness, skill and grit who can elevate his game would have been so helpful to elevate the games of Krejci and Debrusk for a long playoff run which is a huge grind. Not easy to aquire I know but they've had a lot of time and the hole in that line is obvious

I'd say the real loser is the one writing off a guy who's played 1 game as a Bruin and another who hasn't played yet. Smells like a hack Leaf fan "reporter."
