Kraken have some nice depth players, but unless some of these guys take huge steps they literally have no first line players. And not sure they really have any top pairing defensemen.

Like we have 3 defensemen and at least 5 forwards better than anybody on the Kraken. Don't understand at all how Dom's model picks them to have more points than us.

He was. Is he still? He really dropped off last year.

You are severely mistaken lol. His scoring totals went down, but he was great on both ends of the ice. He'd be our best defenseman instantly. Schwartz was also our third best forward last year so not sure how you get 5 better forwards.

Not sure we watched the same team. Schwartz wasn't particularly impactful last year, finishing 6th in points and 7th in goals among our forwards. And that was before we added Buch. ROR, Perron, Schenn, Kyrou, and Buch are all better at this point. Probably Thomas too. not sure how this is even an argument. And he is probably Kraken's best forward.

As for Gio, not only has his scoring really fallen off, so has his corsi. All indications are he is nowhere near the guy who won Norris 2 years ago.

Schenn and Kyrou were in no way better than Schwartz. Both of them fell off a cliff without Schwartz and never recovered. Hell, it's a valid question going into the season if this is just the decline for Schenn starting or if he can recover. Thomas has to prove a lot to even start being compared to Schwartz. Buch is about the same as Schwartz right now. Better on transition and off the rush, but worse on the forecheck and defensive zone.

Eberle is also about as good as Perron is right now.

On what basis? Perron has more goals than Eberle every year he has been back in St. Louis, more points every year going back further. Usually by a lot. Perron has been significantly more impactful player.

Schwartz was a black hole for much of year. Schenn fell off because he got chained to Tarasenko who was atrocious. Do you not have cable?

It's fallen, but still at 53% and he's still excellent at defending the front of the net, the blue line, and in transition.
He is still decent, but he did less well in easier assignments last year than he did for previous several years. It's natural as player ages.

Eberle generates an insane amount of chances in prime areas. Perron is better at finishing and the PP, but his 5 on 5 play has been overall worse than Eberle's for pretty much their entire careers.

Schwartz was hurt and came back to Tarasenko being that black hole. Schenn started being terrible before Schwartz got hurt and Tarasenkon got back, that's why Schwartz's metrics are better in literally every category. I think the offseason hype has effected your memory.

I disagree with the bolded. Eberle is much, much softer than Perron.

Are you okay?

This is an insanely good season. That performance in the offensive zone is abnormally good even for top line players

This ESPN coverage is pretty clumsy. They will need to work out some kinks. But I'm enjoying a new take on things.
I agree. I expected some growing pains, and there certainly are some. But I think everything will be sorted as they figure out what works and what doesn't.

For example I don't mind the overhead view, but they've left it up at times for a bit long. And I like the idea of "The Rush" with the low views and sounds of the game, but not sure if it's best to run it during live play.
