It seems to me it's been successful in removing the unnecessary injuries due to gunning for the puck to prevent icing.

no way. the old icing rule was completely unnecessary

rushing to touch a puck first at all cost is not hockey

I know it gets rid of the injuries, but it feels like it eliminates one of the many battles in a playoff game. Im just old school i guess. Hopefully i get used to it.

Miller wouldn't be the first guy to come in to fix a goalie problem who had a rough start in the playoffs with his new team. That sort of pressure can get in a guy's head.

Actually - I think a year or two ago I went looking back through SC winners and goalies... and there's like two instances of a goalie playing their first (full or partial) season with a team and winning it all in 'recent' times... Hasek (might have been his first year with the Wings? and he wasn't even the starter that year I think?) and Ward.

Bringing a goalie in never seems to actually accomplish something.
