I've never been there, but Calgary looks like a beautiful city.

Wonder who the two teams were that immediately declined trading for him. Starting to wonder if AZ was now actually on that list after that kid tweeted the team list.

Ugh. Just noticed on the Panthers board Duclair got an achilles injury in training and will be out for months. Rough offseason for that team for sure.

The deeper you look, the worse it gets.

Everyone who was involved in this and everyone who was aware but didn't blow the whistle needs to clean out their desk.

Clearly HC did not need the $3 million COVID relief money it received from the government if it just has piles of cash laying around for stuff like this.

aren't flip flops like thongs/sandles?
Meh….. you were nothing back in the day unless you wore a pair of Beachcomber Bills.

What's the overall feeling toward the upcoming WJCs?

For me, between:

1. the August timeslot
2. the removal of Russia (from a truly "best on best" perspective)
3. the scraping of the results from the first iteration
4. the scandal surrounding Hockey Canada

I couldn't really care less about this tournament. Better things to do in August.

I agree. I'm not likely to tune in.
For the sake of the players involved though, I'm glad it's happening.

We have a short window here in Canada to enjoy outdoor living without layering up. Timing is the big reason for my disinterest.

I've never watched the Hlinka tournament, but if it were in Nov, I'm sure it would be one of my favourites.

Yes, we know it's backwards in Arizona. No one wants to be here in July and August, and there's nothing worth watching sports-wise except English soccer in Aug. unless you can handle baseball (or, ugh, preseason NFL).

Hockey in August is asking Canadians to come indoors during the day while at their cottage. No one is going to trade sunshine, drinking, hiking, fishing, kayaking, whatever, to sit on the couch.

Cooley and Doan won't be in it because of school right? Will any coyotes prospects be involved?

I'll still watch since August is the slowest month of the offseason otherwise. Having a little competitive hockey will help drag us to training camp

That's what we do in AZ all year round.

Hell I'd watch NFL practice if they'd televise it. I love the NFL! I even watch the draft.

Sound familiar? At least up until the BA / Bear era of Coyotes hockey.

“I mentioned that at the end of the year that no one is really holding us accountable,” Pacioretty explained. “If we have a bad year like this, the city would be half on fire in Montreal. Here in Vegas, it’s 80 degrees, and it’s sunny. We’re getting our car washed and getting our organic food, and going to play golf.
