Most of the time, when people label a player as "lazy", the issue has to do with a lack of hockey sense relative to tangible skill (see: David Tanabe).

Jokinen is one of the few exceptions to that. When he is playing for his career, he is a great 2nd liner. When he gets comfortable, it all goes away.

For anyone who can watch the HBO 24/7 series, the Leafs are playing the Hurricanes tomorrow which means next week's episode might have some interesting tidbits involving us.

holy crap. was at the Predators vs Kings game tonight and the Preds had gone up 2-1 with about 3.5 mins left in this very hard fought game so everyone was was very happy and ready for the end of the game....when the Kings tied it with about 36 seconds left. talk about the air coming out of the building. wow. it was crazy......

oh but it gets better.

faceoff happens, and 10 seconds later, the Predators score again to go back up with 26 seconds left! what a roller coaster of emotions! it was just plain nuts! so much fun to be at! one of the craziest endings to a hockey game ive ever been at

Wasn't there a rumor a couple years back that the Canes were close to acquiring Patrick Sharp? Something about him and Eric being really good friends and given the need for a winger, the Canes were pushing hard for him?

If there was, I wish it came to fruition. Sharp may be one of the more underrated players in the league and has been for years. He's like the goal-scoring Ray Whitney in that regard.

He scored his 22nd goal tonight, plus a beauty in the shootout

I think there was (it was either him or Versteeg), I want to say in 2008 or 2009 when Chicago was having some cap issues.

I don't think it was a rumor of Sharp's acquisition so much as it was wishful thinking. IIRC it was in his contract year and he signed an extension shortly after.

It might have just been Tripp going off on a tangent. Starting with "They train together in the offseason" and going from there

24/7 is so cool. I've never had HBO before, so I hadn't had the chance to watch it, but I'm in the middle of one of the Leafs/Wings ones now and it's so cool.

Two things I've learned:

Holy hell there are a lot of F-bombs being dropped. I thought I swore a lot at work.

If you have an iPhone, ask Siri "Who is the magic man?"

[spoil]It looks up Pavel Datsyuk's stats![/spoil]

Anyone else remember the game in Chicago in 2011? Sharp had a newborn daughter and Tripp was speculating about she and Eric's also recently born second son potentially dating in the future. It was REALLY ****ing creepy.

Minus the Jackets (and Canes of course), all the wrong teams won tonight.

January will either save or sink this team.

Spent the day in Toronto. Spent a few hours in the Hall of Fame. Skated on natural outdoor ice for the first time. Went to Tim Horton's twice.

Back in Michigan and pumped for the game tomorrow.

Pond hockey is probably the main thing I miss about living in New England. We pretty much had our own personal pond steps from the house. My grandparents also lived on a huge pond, that one was kinda creepy with all the creaking and cracking.
