I personally couldn't give a shit about jersey ads. I think it's a good development for the league to have more revenue streams to help in growing the game. All of those "ugly" ads are part of what will help grow the salary cap in years to come and what will help Carolina maintain the core of the team.

I disagree more revenue streams help the team maintain the core. The players will end up just making the same percentage of the cap they do now. We won’t be fitting in additional players into the new cap, the players salaries will adjust so we have the same players squeezing under the cap. Even keeping the core will end up being the same battle. That’s great for the players and it’s great the owners make more money but the concept that the team will be better because of it or will be able to keep the core together doesn’t make any sense.

We’ve been seeing the inflation in salaries already the last two off-seasons. The deals everyone has been calling outrageous and stupid are the new normal.

I mean all the ads are doing is just further padding the wallets of those who are already rich. Its not like this is going to have any tangible impact on the customers (fans). We're still going to be price gouged at the gate, we're still going to see high prices on concessions and merchandise. Its not going to help us at all.

That is probably the biggest part about the ads that I hate the most. Its just a cash grab by those who really don't need it.

Isn’t that the case with most revenue streams? Ads on the boards, arena naming rights, sponsors, tv deals, etc..? None of it is intended to help fans.

Even death and taxes.
True story. My bosses wife's sister passed away Monday. She had been adamant about a very minimal funeral, so they got the cheapest coffin from the funeral (by the way found out you can order caskets on Amazon, who knew) no family thing at the funeral home just a small grave side service. Basically the box, the plot, and the system to lower the box in the ground. Gonna end up being right around 5 grand! Thats just insane

Cool looking jerseys are one of the things i love the most about sports in general, and hockey especially. I hate the idea of jersey ads but I know the nhl (and all major sports leagues) will eventually look like Nascar and although I will completely detest it its coming so I'm just trying to enjoy what we have while we have it

I have always been pretty set on being buried, but I've seriously started to re-consider given the costs involved. It's absolutely absurd to pay thousands of dollars for something you won't even know is happening. Literally take my body and throw it in a volcano, who gives a ****? I certainly won't.

You’ll be the king of hot takes.

Just as there is a Big Pharma there is a Big Funeral industry. I wish I was joking. I want to be cremated but in my will say that I want my ashes spread in ridiculous locales to annoy everyone in my family one last time

I actually sent a letter to our small town here in Edenton asking if it was okay to be burnt up in the back yard? I suggested I already burn yard debris and would pick a day to not put smoke on the neighbors. True story.
