To be fair - I think the stunned reactions of everyone else on the stage probably makes the fallout of this a Rocky Wirtz issue and not necessarily a Chicago Blackhawks issue. Danny Wirtz saying he’d be happy to talk about it and then getting cut off by his dad at least tells me there is an answer, even if Rocky forgot to take his meds today or whatever.

That’s not a super challenging stretch of games, and they really don’t have any margin of error at all. Now 17 points back of the last WC seed with 4 games in hand.

They have to head to western Canada after the break, but in general their February is still a pretty weak schedule. It’s now or never for them, because their April schedule is an absolute murderer’s row of top teams.

Apparently the apology was "forwarded" by the Business Ops exec who was sitting next to him through that tirade, so in all likelihood they literally waited until he went home for the night to type something up and release it.
