Oh man, FLA/TBL and BOS/TOR is absolutely amazing. Seriously cant wait for the first round, no better time to be a hockey fan then those round 1 matchups IMO.


On another note, Avs dont even get home ice in round 1. What a f***ing terrible end to the season after banging out the 9 game win streak after the deadline.


I seriously have even less confidence in this team winning a round then last years. I think we get embarrassed by the Jets in ~5 games.

I agree. Those series will be amazing. BOS/TOR and FLA/TBL. Looking forward to it. Other series sound meh though, Rangers vs Capitals and Carolina vs Islanders. I expect Rangers and Carolina take these in 4-5 games.

Oh well. Maybe not having home ice and being the 'underdogs' will take a bit of pressure off of us.

First game will tell us what is the real capability of this team. If we lose again 5-0 6-0. We are toast.

Nice choke by Philly. Had the playoff spot in the bag but the wheels fell completely off. Nobody expected them to do much this season but still.

I don't understand what happened in Philadelphia but if Tortorella pulled the goalie to get Detroit out of the playoffs he should have a statue built outside Ball Arena.

It's possible Torts didn't know Detroit picked up a point and eliminated them, though it did happen three minutes before Torts pulled his goalie. You'd think they'd have someone upstairs relay down that pulling the goalie was pointless. But they probably had a game plan going into the third that they needed a regulation win and just stuck with it.

Either way, anything that so needlessly f***s Detroit is hilarious and should be welcomed.

Just found out that Arizona is apparently gone, moved to Utah. Wow, did not know things were happening. Is it definitive and if yes, by very next season?

Not that i ever particularly cared about that team, but its always sad to see team gone, especially one that was there for decades.

I posted on the main board that I totally give the Leafs the edge in players due to their offensive prowess, but that prowess has also gotten them nowhere and that's because their defence and goaltending is trash.

Nah, in the past years that hasn't been the issue. Their depth, defence and goaltending has actually been fine. It's the top players that have disappointed.

But their D and goaltending is not as good as it was in previous years, even if Matthews now actually starts giving a shit in the playoffs.

Yep. They're moving to Utah to facilitate the Avs move to Arizona. This is all starting next season.

Not nearly enough appreciation for the coaching job there. The Isles were 19-15-11 and sitting out of the playoffs... Roy has them playing .600 hockey solidly in the playoffs with good underlying. I don't think they will beat Carolina, but it honestly wouldn't shock me at all if they did.
