2020 1st, Conditional 2021 1st, Kevin Bahl, Nick Merkley, Nate Schnarr.

Conditions on the 2021 1st are apparently win a playoff round + re-sign Hall; if 1 condition is met it becomes a 2nd in 2021, if neither are met it becomes a 2021 3rd.

Didn't say it would be this year.

Might not be next year either... ;)

This is quite a haul for Hall...the trade is not one for one.

Hall 50% retained for

Nick Merkley (30th OA 2015) Nick Merkley Hockey Stats and Profile at hockeydb.com
Nate Schnarr (75th OA 2017) Nate Schnarr Hockey Stats and Profile at hockeydb.com
Kevin Bahl (55th OA 2018) Kevin Bahl Hockey Stats and Profile at hockeydb.com
2020 1st (not protected?)
2021 1st (conditional on Yotes re-signing Hall and winning a round in the playoffs, 2nd if only one of those, 3rd if neither of those)

Whew...does that all add up to Adam Larsson yet? :sarcasm:

Its a lot of quantity but maybe not quality

Bahl is at best a number 4 in this league some day
Merkley has some top 9 potential
Schnarr is a bottom 6 guy

Really if they make hay on the 1st round pick it might be ok for them. In the end Hall wasn't coming back and the Devils are rebuilding so they need a lot of pieces

Those prospects are all a little shaky, could go either way. The second 1st could be a 3rd. This year's 1st would be 22nd based on current position. Will be later if Yotes win a round, but then the 3rd becomes a 2nd.

So the value both ways depends somewhat on Hall signing with Ari. If any of those prospects turns out then NJD did pretty well. OTOH, if Ari gets bounced in the 1st rd, Hall walks and none of those prospects makes it above the bottom of the roster, then not all that much was either spent or gained.
