We were saying the same about Kucherov and Stamkos last year. They had huge point leads at ~25 games as well.

Fun fact: Stamkos had 36 pts with 22 GP last season, same as Rantanen. Kucherov had 34 pts. McDavid had "only" 26 pts in 21 GP around this day last year.

After that Kucherov went up and took the lead, distancing McD with around 10 pts by end Dec.

There is a lot of hockey left and McD never gets tired or worn down, so watch out in the second half of the season.
