Being a French-Canadian isn't a prerequisite to being GM of the Habs.

While GMs may not talk to the media all that much (compared to the coach or players). Let's do a thought experiment. JBB is French only. Does the same job, but only in French. Would we feel that our concerns were being heard, or would we assume that he was out of touch? Would we convince ourselves that Coop was doing more GM-type work than he really was? I think there's a good chance.
I want my GM being able to negotiate with agents, other GMs, players, enterprises and the league and build a contender first and foremost. If that means an AGM has to do the press conferences with the local media for him I couldn’t care less.
