People were harsh on Emelin around here but his lost can be felt. Sure he isn't the most sturdy defensive defensemen but he still bring an element of physicality that is sorely missed. Players think twice about going on his side when rushing due to his ability to destroy people with big hits. Now opposite forwards just a have a field day entering the zone

We are heavily reliant on our forwards to play defense. But our Dmen still need to be capable, and they haven't pulled their weight against elite talent. Hence, this is why I dread facing the Isles or Toronto in the 1st round.
