WJC: Anything for Frk's Spear Job?

If he was 2 inches shorter or the Czech player got up off the ice there wouldn't have been a suspension. It was very borderline - late if anything.

Seems like someone doesn't follow junior hockey that much.

IIHF and CHL are very strict with hits to the head and neck area. He would probably have gotten a way longer suspension in Canada knowing his history with headhunting.

It's a complete embarrassment that this didn't even get one game.

It's too bad it wasn't old-time hockey. Gudbranson could have dealt with it on the ice, they both would spend 5 minutes in the box, and Frk would never spear another Canadian player as long as he lives.

The way the rules are, however, stickwork artists who could not win a fight with Gudbranson's mother will never get suplemental discipline, while Guddy would have been out of the tournament. So Gudbranson embellishes the spear (he did, don't lie to yourself), the weasle gets kicked out, and everyone feels like they just watched a soccer event rather than a hockey one.

I find it Frking riduclous he didn't get a 1 game suspension

Sure I understand head shots are dangerous, but Kassian's hit wasn't an intential act to injure, he was finishing a check and by luck he hit the head of the Czech and well we all know what happened from there, but Frk's act was an intentional shot to the balls of Gudbranson, either A, he should have been suspended, or B, he should have to take off his cup and let Gudbranson do it right back to him
