PD always has to take something good and sour it. This time by giving a decent, but not great, backup goalie, too much money and way too much term.

Pretty sure everyone was good with keeping him at less than $2M for a year or two but this is just insane overpayment.

OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators announced today that the team has signed goaltender Anton Forsberg to a three-year {{field}}lt;/span>8.25M contract extension. The contract has an average annual value of $2.75 million and includes the following breakdown: $2.55M in 2022-23, $2.95M in 2023-24 and $2.75M in 2024-25.

I kinda feel like we got a deal on AAV but gave him the extra year. I kinda think PD had to make this move. Murray is a medial ? and Gus doesn't look ready. Would have preferred 2 years though but not a big deal.

Money is fine but three years is a lot. Well worth it if Forsberg continues to play well but I wish they’d stop with these 3-4 year deals on goalies that aren’t proven or have lots of question marks. It’s such a volatile position.
