Unfortunate that AA had to get hurt for this opportunity to arise, but AA was playing at a level that Mantha can earn a spot without displacing him in the lineup.


I'm definitely willing to bet Mantha will play double digit minutes.

They already had the cap space, With putting Vanek on LTIR. And putting AA on IR opened up the spot for Mantha.

Funny as fans we get impatient. The fact both Bertuzzi and Mantha would be up this season was inevitable. Here we are not even a month in. Too bad AA is injured but we'll probably see all the young guys together soon enough.

In the GR replays Mantha has a very smooth style. Henkka talked about reach being a major advantage, may be it gives AM that extra 1/2 second to make such intelligent decisions, like his aim on net. He looks calm on his goals, cool and collected.
