You're not going to have talent top to bottom on every single line. That's a luxury that maybe one team in the league has. In the cap era, you're going to have weaknesses.
Our top line is solid. Clowe-Henrique-Ryder is also solid. Both of those lines are a very capable one-two when they're going right. The Elias line is a work in progress, primarily, because it took Deboer three thousand years to figure out that Elias + Gionta or Bernier = suck.
With Loktionov that line has buzzed quite well. Check out the passing and shot metrics (

Oh and you want talent on the fourth line? Well you have Josefson scratched, Tedenby on the Moon, Boucher in Albany in favor of garbage. You have Salvador playing over Larsson.
The coach is not maximizing the talent. The players are not the problem.
