I think you mean Jan and while i agree that was my goal to play meaningful games into the new year this isn't exactly how i wanted it. its one thing to be fighting for a playoff spot right now which is what i thought would happen. as to what we are doing now where we are sinking out of a playoff spot which is totally different.
See this is where having the context and perspective of what's actually happening in these games makes a difference to how you view things. They aren't playing awful hockey at all. Just not quite good enough to win (mostly not finishing chances). If they were losing these games like last year with horrid puck management, bad goaltending, and losing by multiple goals...that would seem to me a true sinking freefall. I'm not seeing that as of now, and as such I remain optimistic that they'll get back to winning games. Whether it will be enough to avoid falling out of a playoff spot, remains to be seen.

I was really happy with Vitek's game last night, felt like he battled hard and you couldn't fault him too much on either goal against. That save he made is probably once of the nicest ones I've gotten to see live since Marty hung up his skates.
VTek was good the rest of the team sucked ass at times it seemed they couldn't score if no one was in net

He got a one year deal because we didn't want to give him term on what he wanted .... so not so hard to figure he's going to ask more than we want to pay him unless all of a sudden he turns into Connor McDavid 🤔 so say goodbye to the Bratt patrol or whatever they call themselves👌

I don't think it's that cut and dry. The reporting was that NJ had offered a deal that started with a 6 per but we never got a report on what Bratt wanted. Decent comps would seem to be Fiala and Kyrou? Maybe Bratt wanted about $8 mil per? At that ask if Bratt finishes with 27-30 goals and 80 points I'd expect NJ to seriously consider that sort of ask. If he wants Tkahcuk money then I expect he goes to UFA which may be his plan anyway.

Anyone know why the hell the lines to get in the building were so long last night? I couldn't believe it. We got there 20 minutes before start time and got in the building at 7:30 on the dot. Don't recall ever seeing it that bad.

Did they open the doors later than normal?

What I said basically .... and if that's the case bundle him and get a return is better than him walking for nothing .... maybe I'm wrong🤔

I think with one year of PPG it was iffy but with two NJ would probably say OK. Fitz has stated multiple times he wants to keep Bratt in NJ long term. I take him at his word on that.

They were pretty foul at the citizens bank entrance. It appeared to be a legit sellout or close to it so I imagine that had something to do with it.

The trick is going through the box office or the vip entrance. I'd also bet the other tower is a bit better as no one from Penn is going over that way, but don't really know as I've never done it.

Usually I go in on the tower by the practice rink because I drive in and park on that side but the lines were wild there as well.

I figured that we had plenty of time if the doors did open up an hour and a half early as they have been. Could have just been a result of the crowd but I thought they'd be more prepared than that.

Are you able to just use a VIP entrance even if you're not a season ticket holder?

Just to be clear, you think trading a young PPG, cost controlled winner in Bratt and Severson for like 40 games of Patrick Kane is a good move?

Getting Bedard would also be a cheat code.
The smart ass in me would trade the two of them for Erica Kane but then I'd be dating myself.

It's a J O K E.

I doubt you're supposed to but I've done it plenty and have never had someone check.

They were strict on one door at the Citizens tower too where we thought it was a short line but they asked if we were STHs and we weren't. Maybe I should have lied.
How would they know? It's not like they have a clipboard with names on it. If you bought on the secondary there's a good chance it is a season ticket anyway.

Yeah there is seperate line for STH (not vip) but on quiet days they dont check as much, or if you arrive earlier enough anyway there is almost no benefit because line equal. But i guess on sellout days... Yeah it probably matters.

Problems we have when team is "good"...

We got in at 6:05 and it wasn't bad. Traffic leaving was hellacious.

Again, the Devils put up 3.47 xG last night at even strength against the best team in the league. They had two breakaways. There were other great chances. They just couldn't finish. The idea that the league has somehow figured New Jersey out is ridiculous - yes, things aren't working as smoothly as they were in November, but they're still playing very well.
And the Bruins had chances where they didn't score. Every team does.

It is obvious teams are playing us differently, and we are not getting the quantity/quality of shots we did during the winning streak. They pound us, and we play perimeter hockey. See Bratt...

Damned if I know, I forgot the game was a late start so I arrived stupid early, but it seemed like there were already a fair number of people in the building even then.
