Losing pre-season games doesn't matter to him, but there is some consequence to Shaw in that this adds to his dossier and will affect future suspensions.

Schenn gets suspended for regular season games for a hit on Oshie in the playoffs.

Shaw gets suspended for pre-season games for a far worse and pre-meditated "revenge" hit.

Okay.

I saw three games and thought hmm thats ok I guess, BUT three preseason games is a complete joke

If you go by league standard, he could have gotten 1 game. He didn't target the head and no injury happened due to the injury, so it's not like he should've gotten a lengthy suspension by league standard.

3 preseason games? That's it? Guess the NHL wants the preseason to be a free-for-all try-to-injure-whoever no-punishment event?

Things could get very ugly if theres no consequences

Terrible hit, and the suspension is too small. Sure, the player wasn't injured, but it's clear the outcome could've been much worse. This is exactly the type of hit the NHL says they want to eliminate.
