Meszaros' defensive game is the best on the Giants aside from Fistric, who is hurt. He's physical, he takes the body well, and he's good at 1 on 1s (very hard to beat wide). Where he could use work, in my opinion, is on his decision making. He sometimes takes himself out of position to hit, and occasionally gets caught chasing the puck carrier and leaving the front of the net unattended. His defensive game is still very solid overall, but it's his skating and passing that really stand out.
Also, he's not dirty at all. Someone who doesn't watch him play should certainly not be saying he's dirty, because he isn't. Call me a homer if you want, but no one who has ever seen him play has ever called him dirty that I'm aware of. I've never even heard it suggested before.
