Maybe this is what Rhodes is referring to:

EDIT: I didn't notice the date on the tweet so I guess it's probably old news by now. :dunce:

I wanna be excited about Dynamite. Really, i do. I’m looking forward to see what AEW can do to get their talent over and how they write for the long haul. However, i can’t be the only one to be less than thrilled about their debut next week. Not really for anything that AEW has or hasn’t done, but because NXT has been straight fire and they loaded the card with compelling title matches for next week.

The missing part here is that Southside have been taken over by RevPro, who are an RoH/NJPW/CMLL aligned promotion that WWE already didn't work with. So WWE pulling talent is really a non-story that they are spinning for promotion.

oh i wasnt trying to paint WWE as bad guys here.
i just think its cool AEW are sending something "big" for the fans who already bought tickets. (obviously AEW re the ones who wanted the story told as im saying it)

Isn’t RevPro also the company who just had that big fallout with the referee thing?
Yeah. There have been a bunch of issues with RevPro over the years, but they are still the biggest promotion in England now that WWE have successfully neutered most of the indy scene over here.

But should the WWE still honor what they said they were going to do?
Even if it wasn't a show that is now being run by an opposition company, WWE don't need to do anything. Guys under WWE contract can be pulled at any time for any reason, this is known to the promotions when they book WWE wrestlers.

But normally WWE offer someone else to fill the gap on the show, and the wrestler will give them a date later on. Working with WWE guys just comes with the risk they they'll not be there as WWE call guys in on short notice quite often. The same thing happens everywhere with guys signed to contracts with big promotions.

Well it was cool of AEW to take advantage of it and get a good PR spin going.

The "this is how its always been done" rationale has always bothered me in industries, though.

I completely agree my friend, another fantastic post.

Wringley has simulated 1,000,000 scenarios about the upcoming Wrestling Wars. In which 89% of the results, was AEW winning.
making them the best "wrassling on tv"

future is great! i trust him!
