********************************Some appreciation for Alex!!! *******************************

He has taken giant leaps as a full blooded pro hockey player,
who is able to do other things too, not just a goal scorer,
sure he still has lots to improve, still needs more consistency is his game
for one, but he is only 23, it will come.

He has earned his appreciation thread!

********************************Some appreciation for Alex!!!*******************************

Alex DeBrincat's remarkable career in numbers (so far) from 16 to 23.

With his 2 goals tonight, Alex DeBrincat passes Brandon Saad's 114 career goals with Hawks (in 150 fewer games)
and is now 38th in Hawks all time goal list. Match this pace next season (or improve), he'll jump into top 25.

That's me in the corner
Cat has been great this year hopefully he keeps improving like he has besides his one off year. hes one young guy we can confidently build around.

I don't think it's hyperbole at this point to call him a legitimate first-line winger -- not just he scores like a first-liner, but he can play on your first line no matter what style that line plays.

I have to admit I was a little worried that Debrincat might fail to live up to his new contract. I'm glad he's put my fears to rest. Kid's been doing almost everything right this year.

Wasn't that a KBS special? Typical overreaction.

No. There were quite a few posters that advocated trading DeBrincat for Laine. And the Hawks adding Strome and/or draft picks to get it done. If I recall, KBS was on the side of reason in that discussion.

We got a top 5 pick when our first pick was in the second round.

That hasn’t happened since Duncan Keith, who also happened to be a shitty prospect.

I'm assuming you don't mean Debrincat was a shitty prospect? He was a really good one, albeit short.
