As I wrote on the BoH board, it's not even close either.

MetLife Stadium in New York (NFL's Jets/Giants) is the next highest at $450 million over 25 years.

ML$E is getting $800 million over 20.

At this point all Arenas have stupid names. Even Air Canada Center was stupid, but at least you could call it the ACC which sounded somewhat unique. And then you could forget it had an incredibly stupid and corporate name .

It's just a sign of the times. Arena names mean nothing now. They are all just incredibly generic.

Might as well just say "the Leafs are playing at their rink tonight."

Could be worse. At least it's not Rogers ____. I would have preferred 'Scotiabank Gardens' over arena, but I guess it doesn't really matter. Arena just sounds boring and generic.
