I'm confused, people are already saying we won't resign Oshie...? I mean, he'd be 30 at that point so its not as if he'd be an ancient then.
Also why do I keep seeing this talk of Orpik being grabbed in an expansion draft?
The problem isn't resigning him if he does well. The problem is the other guys we would need to sign.
http://www.csnwashington.com/hockey-washington-capitals/talk/trotz-sees-caps-going-right-direction"Eric Fehr, Ward, Brouwer, were all great secondary face-off guys if not first face-off guys," Trotz said. "Brouwer in the power play was our go to guy in the face-offs. All three of those guys were good face-off guys, penalty killers and all three of those elements are gone."
The thing is that Wilson has been mishandled, had bad luck, etc. First he was rushed into the NHL (he really should have stayed in the AHL another season), had Oates as a coach, then he missed out on most of development camp last summer due to his injury, and then last season because they were trying to figure out lines, situate Kuzy and Burakovsky, figure out a linemate for the top 2 lines and adjust to Trotz' system, Wilson was learning on the fly... all the while having his first legitimate season under an *actual* NHL coach. On top of that because of how Oates played him as the 4th line fighter because of his size that's how he knew best to play so he was settled into the role and it's hard to break out of (especially with the media/refs and other players seeing him as such now) but towards the end of the season, he was starting to do so. I still think it's quite possible we're going to get a break-out season for him to come. He just turned 21 a few months ago.I have issues projecting guys like Barber and Vrana as doing anything at the NHL level right now. I love Wilson but even he hasn't shown he can be top 6 yet, but if he can what we've got right now are...
Well looking at Trotz's comments it appears Fehr is gone.

So who's the best of the bottom 6 C's available that can PK?

Because the Caps have reached a point where the biggest lineup question is who will play 3C...
People need something to talk about and GMBM is making it difficult to complain

Trotz said on EITM that B-Mac is looking at a few options.
Yea he said they were looking to add another peice and also add a bottom 6 forward
I'll have to listen to it again, but it sounded like one piece and that piece being the bottom 6 F
Gimme an UFA name who has something to prove, can take face-offs and PK.
