Hockey players are extremely small now. They dont really do any upper body weights and just all core and legs.. Heck even look at Drew Doughty walk around, his arms and shoulders are so thin and youd never think that is a top pro. Majority of guys are shaped like that in NHL... They dont really do any "beach body" workouts

The old school guys are built like tanks and are real thick(Shane Doan/Jarome Iginla types)... Nowadays you really dont train upper body and try to get thicker cause that slows you down on the ice and its all about quickness now.... Thin is the new thick haha.

Says a lot about how much less "gritty" the game has become since the Iginla/Doan/Chara generation of the early 00s. At that time you'd get dominated if you didn't have the upper body strength to fend off obstruction and work the boards. It's so much more of a speed based game now.

Yeah, you just proved my point. That's what he's listed at.

If you look at Marner and think he's 6'0 170, you are not an accurate judge of size. Because he's clearly not that...

He's 5'10-5'11, and probably more around 150.

I don't know. Anyone that guesses my weight usually says like 150-160 and I fluctuate around 190-195.

I have a lot of weight my legs, I workout back, legs and core a lot and I never workout arms. It makes me look smaller than I am.

Does Marner have tiny legs or something? He's a hockey player, I can totally see anywhere from 160-170 and not think it's too much.

I could also definitely see the assumptions for 140-150 pounds but you don't need much weight at all around 6 foot to get to 170, especially if you carry a bunch in your legs.
