Allen still might be able to win the job with a good performance even with McCarron healthy.

So it's not broken but he has what? I mean if he can practice like this week or next week, what is it? A sprain? Interesting you can still have xrays these days that are inconclusive.

Think starting Allen is potentially a disaster. Granted with his big arm he's not gunna learn much on the bench but if you rush a guy and it goes horribly it can kill their psyche and they might never get it back.

McCarron has been riding with the one's since April. Peterman also has been around them. Allen really hasn't. Last week he played with them but it was also against the Browns 2nd string.

Sure, he's getting reps now and the start but they rolled like there was no rush for his development. The coach said it was a true QB competition so I think this is part of that.

Still think if he can go that it's McCarron.

He did, but it was also against zero pass rush for the most part when all of the Browns starters were out. As bad as their pass blocking looked in the first quarter, Allen might get pretty beat up this season.
Actually, the Browns were blitzing, specifically on Allen's TD throw.
