Due to the unfortunate circumstances last night, both in our game and in games around the league, tonight's game against the Islanders (28-25-6) has become of utmost importance.
Before this three-game stand started, it was said the Hurricanes (27-22-9) needed at least 4 out of the possible 6 points. Since they lost last night, that means two wins in the next two games is a must.
It took them 5 years to get into a playoff spot this late in the season (seriously. I believe the last time was 2013). If they give it up without so much as a fight...well, they'll be the team we kinda figured they were already.
But let's hope they surprise us.
