Keränen showed some flashes of really strong play but doesn't look NHL ready. Loads of potential there though and I don't think it's going to take long for him to breakout and make the majors.

Dumba looked like an NHLer out there. I think he either makes the team out of camp, or he's a mid-to-late season callup who never gets sent back down.

Filling the net 4 times in preseason, our team can now be considered an offensive juggernaut.

Brodin gained some size along with speed. Dumba looks more confident and a bit more relaxed. He's gonna be awesome.

I agree. I would like to see Keranen add muscle and max out around 200 pounds before he comes up, but that might be something to work on for next season.

Weird..The only thing I didn't like about the game was the first period.. 1st period was choppy and slow

To me 1st period was the one when they showed me that they actually care about these games, but thats just me so I dont disagree if you have a different kind of view.

Dumba looked great tonight. There were a couple times where he got sneaky trying to step into someone at the blue line. One day he's gonna pop someone real good and cause a brawl.

Just back from the game, my thoughts on who looked good/not:

Good:
Coyle - looked great especially early
Koivu - other than that one bad turnover
Haula - thought he was solid all night
Dumba - still makes some mistakes, but totally set up that 3rd goal on the PP and generally looked pretty good
Power play - obvious from the results, but I thought the movement was actually pretty good too
Scoreboard - HD finally!

Meh:
Parise - didn't think he played bad, just didn't think he played well
Keranen - I see a few people commented on this page that he looked good. I thought he looked pretty bad to be honest other than that sweet pass to Spurge. He played better later in the game.
Backstrom - Not terrible, but the first goal was bad.
Scoreboard - There were so many mistakes on the display portion at the bottom throughout the game. I know, first game with it, but if was embarrassing how bad it was at times. Obviously will be corrected in time.

Also, I have to admit I love Jets fans. They're just always so loud.

I thought Keranen looked good on the PP in the first game too. I wonder if there is a spot for him.

He was ok in the first two periods, but played outstanding 3rd. If he makes this team, he'll be a nice pp specialist for the second unit.

Dumba played great and looks like he's making a run at the roster.

I didn't like Coyle on the Granlund/Parise line. Please put Pominville back on that other wing!

Like I said...

Parise - Koivu - Coyle
Vanek - Granlund - Pominville

Will be our top-6.

Dumba makes mistakes, but he also looks like an offensive game breaker at times. He might really spice up our PP.... not so much our PK.

Didn't notice Olofson. Is he really a better option than Blum? Coyle looked fast and strong. It sure is nice to have him go into the corner and know that he is going to overmatch 90% of the players in the league. Was going to say that he looked better than Nino, then Nino scored.

Scandella and Spurgeon looked clumsy together, oddly enough. I hope Scandella doesn't regress after his VG season last year. I think he is best when he plays aggressively.

Olofsson looks like he needs AHL time.

Dumba and Folin are separating themselves from the pack fighting for that D spot. One of them is making the team...maybe both?
