The IIHF has always been hesitant to give out assists, but now they've decided assists shouldn't exist at all, great. Hopefully they fix this, there're definitely been at least 1 assists on these 3 goals so far.

Was using the IIHF app which was good last year, but right now it's extremly slow to update with very limited info.

Watching the Swiss game with one eye and while they have given out primary assists they're not as keen on secondary. Really thought they would give Berni a secondary on that second Swiss goal, bot not yet

The first Swiss one was a point shot that was tipped so it's definitely not unassisted either.

Only intermittently watching the Swiss game, but I hope the scorer over there isn't ridiculously more strict than the other pool. Would clearly affect pools if they never give out assists, any player on those 5 teams would have a much tougher time. 6 goals, 3 assists.

I don't mind the lack of secondary assists sometimes as long as it's consistent, they've been like it in the past. It's the clear assists that the Swiss game seems to be missing that's irritating me. Like a tipped point shot is clearly an assist yet it still says unassisted.

I guess I mean more randomly bad than systematically. I don't want to see entire games where there's 8 goals and 4 assists total, and they miss 3 or 4 brutally obvious primary assists. A tipped shot is not unassisted. The occasional missed 2nd assist is not as big of a deal IMO, the obvious primary ones, and entire games where teams get screwed because the official scorer literally hates any assists is just stupid. I'm still hoping they fix the brutal stupid ones in the SWiss game. I've never seen a tipped shot be unassisted before, that's not an acceptable mistake. That particualr one doesn't even affect the pool, it's just annoying.

First day in the books and it looked like it was going to be a fair low scoring, evenly distributed day. And then in the 3rd period of the late games Laf got 3 points, Fagemo got 1, Pinto got 2, and Daws won resulting in a huge 8 point rush for Zemgus. More than any points for anyone else today all day he got in 2 periods. 5 point gap over early leader Scranton with the first leader of the day in 93leafs in 3rd with Statsy. Should be a more quiet day tomorrow with just 2 games but with a couple games that could see some scoring who knows, do you have Americans?
