He tried to equate playoff success as a reason why Marner is not better than Kane at the same age. Asking why haven't the leafs gotten out of the 1st round if Marner is so good. Yet no would argue Kane was/is a better player than McDavid, who had very little playoff success. Playoffs and deep runs and winning cups are team achievements. No one denies that Kane was unbelievable in those playoff runs, but it's not an indicator of being a complete hockey player. On the same token just because a team has struggled, like CHI has the past 6 years, it's not an indictment on Kane, nor should it be on Marner.
