[FIELDSET="QUOTES TO NOTE"]

There have been a lot of ups and downs to get to this point, but it is definitely an accomplishment.
It’s not an easy thing to make the playoffs year after year.
- Marc Staal

I went to the rink on Sunday and took care of what I felt I needed to do.
There were guys there who went on and who took shots at me. I had a good workout. I thought I needed it.
If you feel like you need more work, you can always get it.
- Henrik Lundqvist

We finally got our check mark. People don’t realize how hard it is to get the opportunity to play for the Stanley Cup.
We still have the opportunity for home ice, so we’ll try to do everything we can to play our best hockey.
- Alain Vigneault

Lets ****ing do it.

They're going to come out hard after their embarrassing loss to the Islanders last night. Let's make them leave another arena embarrassed.

Please lose tonight and Thursday.

Best thing that can happen to this team is falling to the 1st WC spot and playing in the Atlantic. They've clinched a spot and have 6 points, and the tie breaker, over Philly and they have 4 games (8 possible points) left. With Det, Pitt and Isles still on their schedule I doubt they'll win all 4 of their games.

No matter what, this is a good time to get Lindberg and McI some playing time to get them up to speed, and that's with the idea Skjei is going to replace McDonagh. Boyle and Hayes or Glass should be taking a seat.

Won't happen, but I can dream, can't I?

God help this team if Staal-Klein is the top pairing going into the playoffs (if McD is out).

Played solid against a garbage team so hopefully we can continue that.

Hoping for Yandle - Klein as top, all around type, pair and then Staal - G as more of a shutdown. The problem with that is you get left with Boyle playing with either Skjei or McI and that's bad news. These young guys need to have a partner who will, at least, be in proper position, not doing figure 8's in the defensive zone or skating up the ice with the forwards when there are 2-3 forecheckers putting pressure on.

Give me:
Yandle - Klein
Staal - G
Skjei - McI

If McD is out for a while and AV had the balls to go with these pairings, I bet Skjei-McI becomes the 2nd most reliable pairing after a few games.

clearly this isn't the way I wanted it to happen, but I'm so happy Skjei is up...maybe, JUST MAYBE, he can play well enough to force Boyle to the bench come playoff time.

I know AV is married to his L/R pairings, but Skjei has played both sides all season in HFD. It's clear at this point that AV doesn't trust McI enough to play him, but he has shown trust in Skjei in the few games he's been up here.

But I know I'm just setting myself up for disappointment. We'll continue to see Girardi and Boyle get dominated in one-on-one battles and it will end our season.

Let's win this one.

As much as I'd like for the team to end up in the Atlantic brackets, I'd much rather see the Rangers wrap up their regular season on a win streak.

Let's ****ing do it.

Why would we want Hayes to take a seat? A young player who is playing is best hockey of the season we want sitting before the playoffs instead of continuing to get confidence? How does that make sense?

It doesn't, as he is a big part of arguably our most consistent (best?) line going right now.

Rangers had JAM in HFD one year and let him walk when he was their best player, and they had their sights on Joel Vermin a couple of seasons back.

Both baby UFAs. Didn't get the job done.

Had Bengtsson and Zaitsev around too... unsigned.

Whoever the Rangers scouting staff are, they're doing a good job of pinpointing these guys out.

Wish the brass acted sooner in getting those guys signed.
