He is a schmuck. He’s a massive one at that.

The team didn’t play well. The Bronx cheer isn’t solely directed at the goalie in these situations. The fans are entitled to displaying their displeasure. Don’t want them to sarcastically cheer your team? Don’t play like shit.

Tortorella has talked about the fanbase too many times at this point while acting like he’s an authority on the subject. He’s a clown.

The Flyers as an organization believe the fans are there for them -- not that the team is there for the fans. Support must be unconditional. The fans have no right to criticize the team. They may pretend otherwise now and again, but the truth squeaks out in moments of distress.

No, he's doing what smart coaches do, deflect from his players to himself.
By supporting his players, he gets them on their side, by pissing off fans, he deflects their attention from the players to himself.

Meanwhile, he'll probably rip some new assholes in the next team meeting, because the team deserves to be taken to the woodshed after that sorry exhibition - it wasn't that they lacked effort so much as they were unacceptably sloppy, too many bad cross ice passes, blind passes, out of position, etc.

This game wasn't lost because of a problem at center, it was the defense that was awful, especially Sanheim, Seeler and Belpedio. Walker was the best D-man, York and Zamula avoided a lot of egregious errors but didn't do much else.
You know how else you support your players? Play them when they're playing in their home town and their family is there to see them play. Also by not leaving the same player in the press box for 6 straight games. That's how you support your players

I'm still liking it more than anything in the last several years.

There's obviously a ton of negatives and this team won't do much without Hart playing 60+, but their offensive play has some sparks that weren't present in the past and there seems to be legitimate chemistry between at least two players on each of the top three lines.

What are you talking about?

They are tied for 10th in the entire league in points.

And you’re trying to imply Torts is underachieving.
They are actually tied for 12th....and 15th in winning %

But Lots of people said the Flyers would start fast, like usual, then start to fade.

They have lost 3 of their last 4.

They will be better than last year if Couts stays healthy and Hart plays. But still expect them in that 8-12th worst teams.

They are still 6th in the NHL in xGF% after 8 games.
This doesn't mean they're a good team, but their record isn't puck luck, either.
They're playing a lot of young players, and young teams are inconsistent.

This is what rebuilding is all about, getting young players first to play well, then to do so consistently.

I hope Frost learned one thing in the press box, mistakes will be tolerated, not showing up (taking shifts off) will not be. if he learns to bring it every shift, he could become a very good player.

Frost isn't learning anything. He isn't there to learn. It doesn't matter what he does. The coach has decided to hate him for no reason.

When you have to make shit up, your point is bad
