Season 4 of Fargo started on FX - It's pretty great so far. Takes place in 1950 and is focused on the dynamics between rival ethnic gangs. Noah Hawley is an awesome writer and director. Chris Rock has been good in it so far as has the supporting cast which includes Jason Schwartzman, Jack Huston, and more. It's like if Boardwalk Empire took place 20 years later but with that smattering of pitch black humor you get with Fargo.

So I found out yesterday that series Ratched on Netflix is a prequel to One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest.
Looks like kind of a dark series

It's a Ryan Murphy series, which means it's "fine" or "awful."

He hasn't done anything great since season 1 of American Horror Story.

Through two episodes, CR either can't make this work, or he was miscast. I know JS can handle it, so the case there is that he was miscast. It's not enough to throw me off the whole series (I was in here pimping like a bastard for everyone to watch), but they stick out like sore thumbs so far, and that is binging the whole thing down from where it could be. There's a chance it could smooth out and get better for those two characters, but the real danger is that Timothy Olyphant has just hit the scene, and there's literally no one better, so I am afraid it is going to seem even more jarring.

I agree with you about Hawley, though - he's amazing. I wouldn't care at all about the minutiae of acting and wouldn't bring it up, but it broke the suspension of my disbelief, so it's a big deal. Not a fatal deal, but big enough to bother me. The guy who plays the enormous Italian brother, Salvatore Esposito, is one of the two leads in "Gomorrah," either the best or second-best show in TV history.

Ive actually had a harder time accepting Schwartzman in his role than Rock in his.

I was pumped to see Olyphant at the end of E2!

I want more of Jack Huston's OCD corrupt journalist.

That nurse is creepy as f***.

Yep, and she's hilarious. Huston was SO f***ing great in "Boardwalk Empire" - one of the all-time great performances. That series is ridiculously underrated.

Are there a horror movie fans here? Any suggestions in recent horror movies? Halloween is in AMC right now.
Cabin in the woods if you haven’t seen that. Got an itch for new(er) zombie movies? Cargo, the girl with all of the gifts, #Alive, Train to Busan.
Overlord is really cool. It’s almost a live action castle wolfenstein, but good.
If you somehow haven’t seen Dog Soliders, ignore the rest and watch that.

I enjoy horror movies this time of year but im not great with recommending that genre. I like the horror/comedy subgenre and 80s slasher flicks/practical effect heavy horror. Not big on torture porn or gore.

Trick R' Treat is the best live-action Halloween movie ever made though. That much I know.

Is that the one with the pumpkin headed monster or the one with Ozzy Osbourne and Gene Simmonds? Cuz the latter sucked.

Cats.

I only just saw that a year ago. It's definitely an entertaining, darkly funny watch.

Its one of the movies that grows on you too. First time I saw it was maybe 6 years ago or so. Enjoyed it. Following year popped it on again around Halloween and its been tradition ever since. My wife and I watch, stuff our faces with leftover candy, and drink some pumpkin ales each Halloween.

I was going to say Trick R Treat but see it’s already been mentioned.

Also, while it’s not a movie I would check out The Haunting of Hill House on Netflix. I really enjoyed that show.
