Putting them on IR does nothing for the cap, it just excludes them from the 23 man roster. IIRC, if we were to put them on LTIR, which would save cap space, then they'd have to stay on it for a certain amount of time.

Ehrhoff on LTIR might make sense though seeing as he probably should just call it quits for the year.
